Question#3: How are you connected to the ocean? What was life like on the Coast in your grandparents’ days? How do you think it will look for you when you are older?

I am connected to the ocean in many ways through the food I eat, the air I breathe, how I travel and in many others. In my grandparents days the coast was able to provide, for the people living on it, more directly. There were less restrictions on things like: fishing, hunting, trapping, logging extra. In some ways that was ok because there was plenty of everything, plenty of fish, plenty on animals for meat or fur, and plenty of trees. However this may have contributed to some of the problems we have today. Life was so plentiful that some did not know when to stop and continued in the same manner until some species were nearing extinction, some are still recovering. I think that If something more is not done the coast may be very barren when me and my generation are older, some species are already beginning to fade away, like the wild salmon, and when or if that happens the entire ecosystem will be disrupted and the plentiful coast our grandparents knew may never come back.
