There are many things that we can do to help with the problems on our coast including: becoming involved in groups like living oceans, presenting your ideas or concerns to your community and or community representative, writing letters or emails containing your concerns and or ideas to your community rep, DFO or other government programs. I think some solutions to the problems in 2 might be to: fish conservatively so as to not strain the wild fish to much and allow them time to regenerate, to careful when logging that one area is not over logged and that streams are not blocked due to logging, we need to be more careful with pollution so that the waters are not unnecessarily damaged we cannot afford many more oil spills or waste dumps into the ocean. For the fish farm issue I think that we need to have closed containment farms, the only drawback is the cost but I think the rewards are far worth it. Closed containment would mean that the fry swimming past the farms would be protected form lice, and the adult salmon would be protected for disease and pesticides, it would also stop seals, dolphins and other fish eating mammals from being caught in the nets of the farms. Closed containment would also help the farms, it would mean less escaped atlantics which is good all-round, and it would protect the farmed fish from things like disease and algae that flow on the currents. In conclusion if we all do our part we can bring back the ocean and its fish to the way they were meant to be.
