You protect what you love, so we view this event as an opportunity for people to get out into nature, find out more about the creatures around them, understand the challenges to ocean health and fall in love with the ocean.

Rules and Regulations

Make sure you and your photo are eligible to enter the contest by CLICKING HERE. It is open to residents of Canada other than Quebec (sorry; that's the law). No purchase is required.

Photos should be maximum 10 MB and there is a limit of five (5) entries per person. Photos must be taken outdoors, on any of Canada's coastlines/oceans.

Our Judge

Andrew S. Wright is a passionate conservation photographer and has published two photography books arguing for increased environmental stewardship in B.C. His book Emeralds at the Edge, published in 2009, received positive reviews in the Globe and Mail. His current book Faltering Light proposes an end to trophy hunting of bears. Andrew played a lead technical role in the design of the Namgis land-based salmon aquaculture project known as Kuterra. He is a contributor to the Great Bear Rainforest agreement and has travelled on numerous occasions to the region.
